Instinct Magazine "The Test Drive" February 2003

This is a year long journal-like series called "The Long Haul" following the true story of the author's successful, monogamous relationship with his partner.

The first few illustrations were general characterizations, but as we continued, it made more sense for the illustrations to look more like them, hence the continuous use of their faces and bodies.

I use both photography and flat imagery to give each piece depth and to make the characters stand out in each environment.
